Winchester on the 21st
Ed/Organizers:
I suggest we go to a 3 heat format. The doubling of heats can make the waiting between runs a little too long, not to mention those enduring the length of the work sessions. This is also compounded by the imbalance seen this past weekend between A and B run groups.
I realize that the roster is already in full swing, but just a suggestion for consideration...
Thanks,
- Allen.

Re: Winchester on the 21st
3 heats might be beneficial. If we assume another 50 car lineup that's approximately 16 cars per heat, 8 cars per group. It'd make for quick runs and you wouldn't feel like you were burning to a crisp while working the course. The only downside is making sure we have enough people working the course. Last week it seemed like we had too many people. Some stations had 3 guys and I believe I saw a few groups of people where there wasn't even a station.
That's something that would need to be organized before the event though to make things easier on the organizers that day.
All in all not a terrible idea though.

Re: Winchester on the 21st
OK. I'll put people in one of 3 heats as the sign up and will re-distribute those currently in heat 4.

Re: Winchester on the 21st
The long heats were more a result of the course design than the number of cars per heat. This is a big lot and we are stretched fairly thin with just 5 work stations. That means we need at least 10 people (not including organizers) working those stations. That's 20 cars per heat (or 24 including organizers) to have enough people working the course. If we end up with only 50 people total (like the last event) and run 3 heats, we get around 7 workers per half, spread out to 5 stations. It's just not enough.
Hopefully we will get more participation at the next event. Regardless, I will try to design the course so that we have more overlap and spend less time out working the course.

Totally understand the points regarding covering course work stations... Your consideration of the suggestion is much appreciated. I know you'll come up with a fun course!

We gonna stir up the CACC guys again for this one? Seems quiet over there for the 21st date...

I actually am "making" this event. I got someone to cover my pace car and announcer duties int he morning at Summit so I can do some morning runs as the rest of the CDC events look very skeptical to if I can make even one or two more.

Re: Winchester on the 21st
So I decided not to go to the TSCC championship event at Virginia Beach this weekend and instead will be at Winchester both days between CDC & MBCA(my first event with this group). Tons of runs, economical, no hotel & I get my expertly grilled veg sausages by my favorite club! Besides, the salt air is bad for my hairdresser's car.

How does one register for an MBCA event? I'd like to run that event.

Dang, if only 12/16ths of the usual folks would call out sick or go to another event, I just might have a chance for FTD. Specially if I start first

I think they only filled 20 of the 60 slots, so there's no way they could make it work.
