Psshh you dont want a m3?....its a B....M...W...come on you know you want to wear the douchebag requisite shirts with roundels everywhere on em

The 350z is not a bad choice, if you could get it down to 3000lbs, its got plenty of power and can fit really wide (also expensive) tire. It also fits in STR for SCCA classing altho probably isnt the top choice. How about an s2000 or rx8? S2000 fits great in STR (top choice car) and fits well in CDC classing. RX8 pwns in BSP and does really well in STX. That is, if you care about SCCA classing.

Don If you want to let me drive the M3 I would be more than happy to take it for a spin to see how it fits in. I liked the e36 m3 when I was working on them but for some reason I didn't even put them on the list. An s2000 isnt excluded but I'm not a fan of the tq to weight ratio. For some reasons I dont have the same opinion of the miata.

Mike they are indeed very different cars, but that's why I'm looking to try them out to see what really fits me. Denny's mr2 was a blast but I'm trying to decide if it's just the car or my driving style.

Dan, thanks. I don't know where I got this reputation as some one to contend with in SB if I get my hands on a miata, but I think it's funny.

Your more than welcome, it looks like I will be at only two more events so make sure to keep me updated if you want to drive it, or if you even want to just grab a run out of my runs in it let me know. The two events will be September 11th and November 20th. If you just want to see what its liek around on the street let me know and you can come by and take it for a spin. The long wheelbase and skinny waist on it makes it fairly stable in transitions, and especially slaloms since its skinny I can thread very well compared to the cobras, I think that defintiely showed in this past autox as I was full throtlte and straightlining the slalom while I noticed the cobras had to slow down (of course they do have way more terminal velocity :P ) I cant imagine how the thing would do on brand new hoosiers. Plus my index goes up to 249whp horsepower and im probably at 215whp, so theres tons of room for more power muhahah.

PS- S2000 dicks the m3 stock for stock due to the much better suspension geometry and actual shocks stock, somethign to keep in mind.

nah, you just have to keep your eyes open, you have have a decent one for 10-12k I imagine that's what you'd be paying for an s2000 or a 350z

I could see you in an M Coupe. Preferably the Z3M, but the Z4M isn't bad. As Don said, the seat replacement is a good 120 lb. reduction, and it has that plow, plow, plow, *SNAP* oversteer handling that is so much fun to conquer. I've always wanted to see one of those properly set up and driven at an autox.

You can drive my MazdaSpeed to compare with other cars.

you should go to a WDCR event.

Jason Becker has an SSM class Z3 M coupe that blows my RX-7 out of the water every race. it's a monster.

Joe if you haven't seen becker run it's worth the trip to cumberland. That is one hella fast car. I love the looks of the m coupe but they require way to much work to get to that point.

Becker only comes out to Cumberland once/twice a year. His car looks a little different now, though.

Larry with assistance from Mike M (and possibly Ted if he is available) will set the course. Keep in mind that they will be setting the course to be fun, fair, and most importantly safe.

Fred, sorry the lower lots are off limits. This is due to the 25 ft clearance needed for safety. I think everyone will like this weekends design.

I'll be running the "I think that's black under all the peeling clearcoat" Miata for the first time. If any other Miata drivers have some pointers I'd love to hear them.

Steve, welcome to the cult of hairdresser cars and Wade, good to have you renew your membership. :) Even though I always have a great time at CDC events, this was a REALLY good day. I'm glad I went here instead of the other event. I usually do real bad at Bowie and it is my least favorite lot. That said, I did real well today and dipped into new time territory. Also had a great time relaxing at Chili's afterward. Maybe the curse of Bowie has been lifted?
