Is there really not a single stinkin' auto-x in the area this weekend? :|

CDC has run 7 out the last 10 weekends. What more do you want!

I had the same reaction. I never look anywhere but CDC for auto-x events but I was looking everywhere I could for something this coming weekend.

I guess I will have to spend the time cutting my fenders to fit the r-comps I bought 5 or 6 months ago and maybe putting in the manual steering rack that has been laying on my guest room floor next to the r-comps for 3 months or so.

I guess I should start up a new gym membership, seeing how much trouble Mike had with his cobra last weekend :D

Come out to FFF this Saturday. We can make a course out of his driveway. I have all the timing equipment. ;)

In addition to doing my scheduled service maintenance I might go to Skyline, although I bet that will be crowded because of the holiday.

I think I saw karting at summit ... but I would rather get my fenders cut and ready for the next auto-x than kart

We could always throw together a cruise and dine to some where.

I don't think you'll like that... manual racks are really slow... it'll be like driving my corolla :P

I plan on reassembling my rx-7 this weekend and getting my garage back...

Dave has a manual rack as do a lot of miatas. I am a little worried about it, but I could always put the old one back in. It is a real manual rack and not a de-powered rack. Dave also does not run 225's, which I plan on doing as well. I assume it would be similar to the elise at auto-x and I have driven Mikes ... I wouldn't want to parallel park it on a hill, but its perfectly fine for auto-x.

I might be down for that as well ... assuming my car is put back together by that time.

I need to do the same but want to time it with an appointment to get my car aligned. I can tell you that installing a manual rack is way easier than retrofitting power steering!

the steering force will be fine, I used to have a miata with a manual rack and drove it around perfectly fine. but they make the rack ratio a lot slower in order to make it easier to steer. watch one of my recent videos to see how much I have to turn the steering wheel and then watch a video of franks.

after a quick google search i found this thread on the topic:

I talked with mike conein this weekend about doing the cruise and dine still but maybe some time in october when the races are still spread out. Any one have any suggestions on a destination? Once we have an idea I'll start a thread in the right forum.

another idea is a cruise and kart :)

Me and my brother went karting at allsport GP last night and had a blast. or we could go to SPK.

If you can wait until december we could do all 3. I am hopeful that SPK will be open the first weekend in december for my birthday. We could do a cruise, drive and dine.
