AndrewTech's Halloween TNT AutoX Sunday Oct 31st

Post by echan »

Sunday October 31st Harry Grove Stadium

AndrewTech's Halloween Autox Event - $15 and free food!

The next CDC autox is sponsored by AndrewTech (they are paying for the food and part of the entry fee).

This autox will be a Test and Tune event with no points. We plan to run event with the typical 4 heats with 3 runs in the morning and 3 in the afternoon (like a normal CDC autox).

The entry fee will be $15 for all participants. However, to keep with the Halloween Spirit, each participant that registers in a Halloween costume (a real outfit not just a button or hat - put some real effort in it!), you'll only have to pay $10!

$10 to autox with free food!

The field will be limited, and we expect the field to fill up extremely quickly. So make your reservations at http://www.capitaldrivingclub.com as soon as possible. We ask that you only make a reservation if you will definitely be there.

Registration and tech inspection will be at 8:00 and will promptly close at 8:45 to try to accommodate the full field, while still giving 6 runs. You must be DONE by 8:45. So if you arrive at 8:00 you won't have a problem. Don't arrive at the last minute.

On-line Reservation System

Member reservations (or participants that will join the club upon showing up) for any events can be made at any time. Open reservations for non-members for this event begin Friday October 1st.

New Bar Code System

This year CDC is using a new bar code system. Remember to have your car ready with the barcodes on the vehicle BEFORE the event. Attached are the bar code instructions, driver barcodes, and vehicle index bar codes. If you have a problem, we can also print your barcodes at the event, if need be.

New Members

We will be accepting new members at this event. If you plan to join the club at this event, you may make a reservation at this time by doing the following:

1. Use "0" as the member number (a permanent number will be assigned to you after you join and you will get a temporary number for this event)
2. TYPE "I will be joining the club at this event" in the NOTES section when making you reservation.

The annual membership is $30 and is good for 12 months from the date you join.

If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact me.

CDC will give away a couple free autox passes. Maybe one for best costume, Maybe one for fastest small bore, or best newbie.

I think AndrewTech was thinking about free wheel alignments and/or $100 credit for FTD or fastest Subbie.

We're open to thoughts on what the prizes should be for. Thoughts??

Definitely too easy. Some Honda and Fred.

Best car costume? On second thought, that may not be such a good idea given it would need to be solidly affixed. It would be fun to see the death-mobile from Animal House run. :)

Maybe just best helmet decoration.

Huh??? That's an autocross tip that's new to me . . . . If the Capital Area Cobra Club autoxers followed that rule, the local economy of Cumberland might collapse. . . .

LOL thanks guys. Ive been drinking a lot less lately, getting in shape and moving ahead with better motorsports efforts are the forefront now. Ill leave most of my drinking to special occasions of which I can find plenty :P.

And I warned her in advance of what she was getting into. So I tell her its her own fault now lol.

PS Capital Area Cobra Club was at a vineyard I cant remember the name of this past saturday. With a bunch of friends doing winetastings at multiple vineyards and of course the one we plan lunch/dinnner at for our last stop there is a meet for Capital Area Cobra. I didnt see any of you guys there.

Jake thought I went to that. :|

The cobra makes me not so much want to stop places. Takes away from the driving part.

I turned the confusion of not having a Saturday event into a four county solo backroad trip.

After a long wait I will be back, and with a new (to me) car!

On another note I now have a crap load of parts from a 98 Subaru Impreza L wagon.

Here are my 2 cents, we should get prizes for:

1.) Most Cones Taken For A Ride ;)
2.) Best Decorated Helmet!
3.) Biggest Position Improvement (from our last meet)
4.) Most Confused Driver/Car
5.) Best Driver's Costume
6.) Most Meetings Appearances (organizers excluded  ) - Maybe best saved for the last meeting...
7.) and lastly - Most Spectacular DNF/Off Course of the day :D

That's all I can come up with at this time (of night...)
