Thanks to everyone that came out. It was really flippin' cold but we had a blast charging through some twisty country roads together! Miata & rx7s were represented in force. Next time we might do a meet and karting event, stay tuned!

No worries, we are planning on growing it and keeping it as a regular event. I usually advertise in several spots to get the word out. Here, miata.net, mscw, roadsters, etc. We are trying to get the word out to folks with classic sport cars too.

If you plan a least 6 weeks in advance, I'm sure you can post an article (most of (older) guys that own in the classic cars may not use forums) in the club newsletters. Here's the clubs I would suggest:

Capital Triumph Register (Art Fournier)
Capital Austin Healey Club (Michael Oritt)
MG Car Club, Washington DC (Chris Kirkner)
Mini (original minis) Club (Larry Atkinson)
Sunbeam Club (David Holland)
Alfa Club (Frank Smith)
Ferrari Club (Dick Merritt)

I can get you the e-mail address for these folks. Other clubs that I don't know a contact:

Capital Fiat Club (http://www.dcfiats.org)
Jaguar Club (http://www.jcna.com)

Another thought is to also highlight the featured cars from the Washington Times (contact Vern Parker). Maybe Vern will write an article to promote the events in the Washington Times

Still another thought is that you make the drive start or end at one of our autocross events. That way the autox participants get to see other neat cars and the participants on the drive get some exposure to CDC autoxing. The only down side is that you won't be autocrossing if you're doing a social drive.

Thanks Ed for the info, please PM me the contact info you mentioned. I will definately explore that. Most of us who meet also ax with CDC so the meets & drives would need to be on seperate days when the season starts otherwise the attendance would be really low & without the core group. (including me :) )
