I got an opportunity this past weekend to drive a baja rally truck on a dirt road course. It was a ton of fun. I have also been wondering about the WDCR SCCA Rallycross that takes place at summit point for some time now. Has anyone here participated? I am interested in details such as:

- Cost
- How well run it is
- Number and duration of runs
- Length of course
- Quality of course (is it tough on suspensions?)

The next event takes place in september.

- Cost - $60 to enter (If you are an SCCA member add $10 if not a member and another $10 if you are signing up the day of the event instead of online)
- How well run it is - Pretty well and getting better as we have more people step up to help.
- Number and duration of runs - ~10 runs ranging from 60-100 seconds for the depending on the course (3 different courses available) and layout as well as how much water is down on the course.
- Length of course - Timewise 60-100 seconds starting and getting a little faster thruout the day. Distance I have not checked but could look at the datalogs.
- Quality of course (is it tough on suspensions?) - It is RallyX It is better than it used to be but you are still bouncing over dirt and grass so it is not easy on the suspension. I am running an 88 RX-7 on stock (AFAIK) suspension and it is not to broken yet.

You can see my videos from the different courses on youtube.

I did the event, and it was a blast! Somewhat abusive to steering, suspensions, and to low-hanging body parts. I got to see Mike Goldman there with his Impreza. If you have a nice car and want to keep it nice, this is probably not for you. But if you don't mind getting dirty, and maybe a little roughed up, it is a good time.

Glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you out at the rest of the events this year.
