I'm there too, in Group 3.

1995 Mustang, dark red #24. Will most likely be parked in the wooded camping area across from techistration area

Anyone have any idea on parking?

NASA usually puts out a map so everyone is pitted by groups. I cannot find anything on it.

Based on the other two hyperfest I've been too, unless you are there on Friday night and secured a spot it's not likely that you'll find something in the gravel paddock area.

Perhaps along the fence near the gas filling area, is where I recall they set aside some HPDE spots. But it's soooooo loud there I wouldn't want to be there all day. There is plenty of room past the end of the paddock as you are heading towards turn 1 ( no shade) and if you want a shady area, you can still find room in the wooded area on the right as you reach the end of the paddock. I've always ended up parked overthere.

It's quieter, less movement, shady. Of course it's also a 200 yard walk to the classroom and you can't hear the announcements. There always seems to be a fair number of HPDE drivers in that area and some racers thrown in the mix as well.

However, it's a crappy area if you need to swap tires, brake pads, or otherwise need to lift your car to work on it. Not much solid ground.

check over on Nasaforums.com They may post the paddock map there.

That seems to be the big difference in the paddocks between Main and Shennandoah.

Shennandoah seems to have much more paddock area. I guess that is the difference in 15+ years of race track design.

I like running Main better but love the room in the paddock at Shennandoah.

I think the Main track has FAR more paddock space than Shenandoah. SCCA paddocks over 300 cars there on weekends, shenandoah couldn't begin to hold that.

Have fun everybody. I wanted to attend on Saturday to help my friend Ben @ Kaplhenke Racing with his vendor booth but the engine in my motorcycle blew up and I'm without a ride. I'm certain I could hitch a ride there with somebody but I need to be back to civilization for a dinner party @ 5pm so it wouldn't work out. Be safe and keep the shiny side up.

I'm posting a little late to this thread, but I was there at this event in HPDE3. I didn't realize I got Gonz's car (Red Mustang #24) on one of my video clips until he posted a comment on my website. :D Hope to see you at the next CDC autoX. I'll be at the July 20th event.

You'll see the Red Mustang around the 5:45 mark.

Hobbs - that's a good in-car view. One of the best I've seen. What camera set up are you using?

It's got a nice wide field of view and good sound.

Gonz,

I'm using a five-year old Sony DCR-TRV340 with a 0.45x Bower macro lens. It's mounted on my roll bar with a I/O Port Racing camera mount. It works great, and the setup's not expensive.
