December 15th @ Summit Point Kart

So my wife asked me what i would like for my birthday and of course, put on the spot, i couldn't think of anything i wanted but didn't have already (lucky me!). But then i thought about how much I'd like to go to Summit Point as i haven't done so yet.

I wanted to ask anyone who has been there: if the Kart til you puke offer would be worth it for a 10am-5pm time frame. That is, would I get enough on track time to make it a better investment than paying by session?

It seems I would need at least 7 sessions to get the best bang for my buck out of the KTP plan.

Any thoughts?

Anyone want to meet there?

Andy, Scherpf, and I did 4 sessions with breaks in between and I think we were there for... 2.5 hours or something. I don't really remember. I remember how my spine was rubbin up against that plastic seat though... 7 sessions would be crucial. Make sure you wear gloves - I didn't for the first two or three sessions and had a wicked blister on my palm.

When I was there you could get 4 sessions and a membership for $99.

When is your birthday? You talkin' about meeting Saturday?

Never mind. I'm a moron. I might be able to do some karting Saturday but I have to be in Winchester by 3:30 at the latest.

If you don't do it regularly I don't think 7 sessions at SPK would be much fun. Your hands will hurt like hell... your ribs will hurt like hell... and your tailbone will hurt like hell... And your neck is going to be tired from holding that helmet up. And that's all if you don't get crashed into. Last time I did karting at an outside track I got hit in a corner by a noob and couldn't twist my body to the left for 3.5 weeks. That was the day before my wedding

Yeah, I still have some credits on my account.

We got there early last time and it was fairly chilly. I just remember the tires on the karts and the track surface were definitely not up to temp and we were sliding all over the place. Until the tires get hot you can't push very hard. I got black flagged in my first session because I spun, oops.

Me and black-flag-Scherpf-murda are talking about arriving ~ 11 or 12 and doing 4 sessions or so... :?:

I have an email SPK sent back in November saying they offer 5 sessions for $60. That's not a bad deal at all and maybe better if it is your first time.

While I am sore the next day, it is a blast and definitely worth it.
5 rides for $60 + tax, 5 arrive and drive rides the day of purchase (membership not required)

All i cn think about is how cold its going to be. The most ive done at spk is 3 sessions in a couple hrs. like everyone else says, youll probably be sore later. but its your birthday, id shoot for the kart till you puke..... as long as you dont have to work, or move the next day, and you like the cold.

Good seeing you out there today Nate. I'm glad it turned out to be such a nice day.

Were you able to get elite status?

Haha awesome! We'll have to find a day to go back and try out the super karts.

I was so surprised that I got elite, especially after my "friend" on the track pit maneuvered me on the second lap.

If it makes you feel better, that guy was looking guilty as sin afterward, i think a couple people were miffed at him!

It probably worked out for the best because after that happened I didn't have anyone in front of me and I concentrated on putting in fast laps. So he sort of gave me the right conditions to push for the elite status. You're right though, he did look guilty but he never said anything to me.

Here are the two videos I got. I put links to the interesting parts in the comments.
