Man what a nice place.

Track is super smooth. Anything brand new will be. Really nice facilities.

Nice video. I'm assuming this is the Lightning track and not the Thunderbolt. I'll be at the Lightning track with the South Jersey PCA the first weekend in October. Looking forward to it.

That was Lightening.

I don't think they had Thunderbolt done yet. The road that looked like it might lead to it was closed.

It was a great facility. I would love to go run it again sometime.

Not a bad result considering I run 3 groups out of my base group.

Class ST2
Position Driver Car Model Club Best Lap
1) Scott Porsche 911 01:17.380
2) Timothy Mazda RX8 01:17.400
3) Philip Subaru WRX 01:18.190
4) Nathaniel Porsche 911 Carrera 01:18.780
5) Peter Mitsubishi Evol LIVERPOOL 01:19.530
6) Nick Porsche 930 01:20.190
7) Nick BMW M3 LIVERPOOL 01:20.600

9) Joseph Volkswagen Corrado 01:26.750
10) Timothy Chevrolet Corvette 01:27.300

It was 3.5 hours from Frederick. Probably only be around 2.45 or 3 hours from Baltimore.

Not bad at all. I went up and stayed Friday night about 30 minutes from the track. It was only $85.00 for the night then I drove home after the event on Saturday night.

I took exit 2 off the Jersey turnpike and drove in from there.

I think I have a new favorite track at least to instruct on... Lighting is smooth, lots of run off and well thought out. The track offically opened July 5th and although the track complex isn't even near complete it's already better than most.
SCCA did a PDX yesterday between the heats of a regional race so we didn't get as much seat time as I'd like but Denise and I got 4 20 minute runs plus time instructing. We met some nice local SCCA folks and had a great time.
It took 3 hrs to get there the MapQuest way and 2 1/2 to get back using 55 to 40 to 95.

not bad. Between this and SUmmit, I don't see myself making the 5 hour drive down to VIR anytime soon. Location, location, location. RIght Ted ?

Hopefully NASA will start using that facility for some of its track days/racing.

I was thinking that after I got back from the EMRA event there. Was a great time and great facility.
