I will be at most of the 2015 NASA Mid-Atlantic events, including comp school this weekend, and hope to make it to New Jersey with NASA North East.

If any CDC members want to join us at the track come say hi.

I'll be driving at most of the NASA events in time trials with the black integra. I'll also be instructing.

I'm interested in NJ in June... What's the scoop?

I'm registered for Summit Point - Shenandoah Circuit for August! I figure I would spread out my track days and sprinkle a little AutoX in between to get me through this driving season.

I've never done NJMP, but i've heard the thunderbolt course is fun.

Shenandoah is a BLAST. It's a super technical track, so try watching some youtube videos to get an idea of the layout before you go.

What is the best beginner event for a first timer?

I'd recommend trying a "hyperdrive" at a NASA event. This is a classroom session and a single track session for $50, and is intended to provide an overview of track days and give you a feel for the experience with a minimal time and financial commitment. "Hyperdrives" are generally available at most NASA mid atlantic events. You're provided an instructor who helps you learn your way around the track and helps keep everything safe.

Here's are links to the remaining NASA VIR and Summit Point events of the season. A pdf info packet of the hyperdrive is available on the website.

If you can swing the finances for a full event and you're confident the car is up to it, the novice group of any organization, at any track, would be fine. My first was Shenandoah circuit with SCCA.

If you want to paddock together, I should be at the October and November NASA events and maybe the SCCA PDX event on Sept 12 to shake down the car in its new configuration. I think Dave is planning for Oct and Nov as well.

TrackDaze is a highly recommended option as well.

Looking at my schedule and what needs to be done to the car to get on the track, I probably won't make one this year. It is probably more realistic to plan for spring. I have this annoying slow leak from the back of the engine that I am pretty sure is the oil pan gasket. I REALLY don't want to drop the oil pan right now, too much going on. I also need a roll bar. These two things will probably keep me out until spring. I will see do a whole day event when everything is set.
