Track Day for 2009
You guys going to try and put together another track day this year?
Hopefully the weather will be nicer.

Re: Track Day for 2009
I'm not sure. Most likely not, unless we get an over-pouring of members wanting another track day. We will be pretty busy trying to make the Triple Skid Pad events run as best as possible.DaveL20 wrote:You guys going to try and put together another track day this year?

Re: Track Day for 2009
I think there is going to be a surplus of track day availability with other clubs this year. I can't see us taking the risk when attendance is down across the board.

Another Track Day please!!
I'm in rain or shine.

Re: Track Day for 2009
given the turnout at the last track day... in the rain even... i don't think there would be a problem filling the spots.
last year was hella fun

Re: Track Day for 2009
I'd definitely be up for a track day.
If you can get enough people to make the trek to the triple skid pad events, I think you'd definitely have enough people for a track day.

I vote yes for a another track day, Last time was a lot of fun even with the soaking wet weather.
Re: Track Day for 2009
I talked to Joe Wozney at the Mercedes Club at Charlie Brown's Memorial Service.
Joe is interested in having CDC promote some of their events (including their track days). Mercedes may honor CDC membership so that CDC members will pay the Mercedes Club Member rate at their events (and we allow their members to attend our autocross at the CDC member rate).
We still have to work out the details.

I'll check on with Ted (also a Mercedes member) on the status of honoring CDC membership for their track days.defylogik wrote:Any updates on the MBC pricing for the april track day?

I talked to Ted, and he confirmed that all CDC members can sign up for the Mercedes club track days. In the past, they made you join the club after the first event you attended with Mercedes.

GWS-MBCA puts on terrific events, so good call on hooking up with them. I try to attend at least one of their events every year.echan wrote:I talked to Ted, and he confirmed that all CDC members can sign up for the Mercedes club track days. Re: Track Day for 2009
Can you rent a car for track days? if so, how expensive is it? I'd really like to try a track day or hpde but my car is classified as a conv. with no aftermarket roll bar options.

Re: Track Day for 2009
Yeah, was refering to a track prepped car, although a regular rented car is funny. Ok, looks like I'll stick with AX then.

Re: Track Day for 2009
A track prepped car can cost anywhere from $600-$60,000 per day depending on what car you want, which track, which event, how much seat time, etc. Few places will rent a race car to an amateur for HPDE because it's not worth the hassle. Such rentals are usually for licensed racer attending a race where the team is already planning to be there supporting other customers besides you.

Re: Track Day for 2009
Depending on what events you are attending there are some companies that will do some rentals for HPDE and Time Trials.
I know with EMRA, Entrophy racing usually shows up with 2 or 3 customer cars that they go out and do instruction and depending on how they drive let them run Time Trials. I know with NASA Renntag Racing rents some cars out and I think there is another group also. RRT in Sterling was talking about putting together a couple of BMWs for rentals for customers at NASA events also.
Check the the EMRA board http://www.emraracing.org/Emrasale.htm and the NASA MidAtlantic board also http://www.nasaforums.com/viewforum.php ... ba9067c994. Here is RRT's site. My buddy is the service manager over there his name is Todd. Tell him Dave told you to call and he will give you the low down.
