echan - hacked email?

Post by Mr. Pink »

Ed,

I would normally send this as a PM but I don't see that option here.

I wanted to let you know that I think your e-mail account may have been hacked....I got an e-mail from your account today with no subject line. The link within the e-mail takes you what looks like a some sort of money making website (allhotinfo) which in fact is a link where someone attempts to attack your computer....at least according to my Norton software. A quick look across the internet appears that the redirect may be a phishing scam. Looks like the domain is registered out of Chicago, IL.

Wanted to let you know.

My e-mail got hacked yesterday and apparently sent out spam to everyone in my address book.

Per the suggestion of several of my IT friends, I changed the password. This seemed to have stopped the spam.

Sorry for the inconvience.
