Local Anodizing?

Post by ericw »

Does anyone know of a shop that would anodize some smallish parts for me?

Sorry Eric, I am not local to your area. But here is a company that I use sometimes for work that usually gives pretty damn good prices and turnaround times: http://www.globalmetalfinishing.com/

They do free shipping on first order too, dunno if that is only for commercial customers or not.

They don't do all coating types so I don't always use them, but I have gotten quotes from them 1/3 of the price from some more local vendors that I use.

Here is what they do:
Clear or Color Anodize
MIL-A-8625F Type II, Class 1 or 2
Clear or Color Hardcoat Anodize
MIL-A-8625F Type III, Class 1 or 2
Clear Trivalent Conversion Coating
MIL-DTL-5541F Type II, Class 1A or 3
Yellow Chromate Conversion Coating
MIL-DTL-5541F Type I, Class 1A or 3
Passivation of Stainless Steel
ASTM-A380 or ASTM-A967
Sealing Options
Nickle Acetate, Sodium Dichromate, DI Water
PTFE (Teflon®) Impregnation
Frictionless Seal, Lubricant Coating

Thanks I'll look into it when I have all my parts together.

I found this place in Boonsboro, MD to check out as well: http://www.centralprecision.com/
