Mike and I were on the way to the grocery store when some asshat ran a stop sign going at least 40mph and t-boned my FR-S.



I don't think the guy who hit me even touched his brakes.

Thankfully, we're ok aside from being sore and bruised, but I'd be shocked if the car isn't totaled.

Saturday night in the hospital I was just glad we were unhurt, but now I'm really pissed about the whole situation. This was my first brand new car, and I loved it. It took me 6 months to find, and now I have to start the hunt all over again as soon as I get a check from my insurance company. Thinking of getting a BRZ this time instead of the FR-S, so that will probably be even harder to find.

Mike and I were supposed to do FATT this Friday, but that's obviously out now. Hopefully they'll refund our money. We would reschedule, but I have no idea when I'm going to be able to find a BRZ, and then of course I have to break it in before I take it to the track.

The most important thing is that you and Mike are OK.

I know how upset you must be (I've been in lots of accidents and just dealing with the insurance companies can be a pain, especially when it wasn't your fault). If its any consolation be glad that after it's all over, this incident will be a bad memory and not a permanent injury that you have to live with your entire life.

Having said that, it sucks to lose a new car...

Was it an auto or stick? There is a red fr-s on a used car lot here in hagerstown, but it is an auto.

It was a stick. I'm guessing the car is totaled, so I'll probably be able to buy another new one after all the insurance BS is done.

Got a call from the insurance company today. My car is officially totaled. Probably for the best since it would never be right after that amount of damage. They gave me a payout offer, but I can't say I'm pleased with it. A manager is supposed to call me on Monday, but the agent said they're not likely to increase the offer

Went yesterday and picked up my new BRZ Limited



Now I just have to break in the engine before I can come to an autocross!

That's great! I hope you didn't get jerked around too much with the insurance companies.

I'm also glad that you didn't give up with the BRZ and get a completely different car, like a Volvo sedan or something!

I'm glad it worked out. I like the new color better.
