I still need to purchase a mig but havent gotten around to it yet.

Heading to the shop this weekend to hopefully finish the front end and spin the car around and begin working on the rear.

I'd be glad to post some pictures of my off-season activity but frankly the only thing I've done to my fine Miata since the last CDC autocross in November is hook up the battery tender. I do have a to-do list that should be done before the new season kicks off but I'm waiting for some slightly warmer weather since I don't like working in a cold garage.

If you joined the club, you should have been assigned a permanent number, which is still good (unless your membership has lapsed for several years).

No. 901 is no-member number. Are you sure you joined the club (e.g. you filled out a membership application and payed the $30 membership dues)? If so, you should have received an e-mail from me with your permanent number. I don't know your real name so I can't look it up, but you can e-mail me at capitaldriving@yahoo.com.

So i have been already began preparation for next year. goal is to beat jay :D

i have had voltage spikes and drops ever since i did the ms back in 09. current issue i think is using low impedance injectors with the ecu. hopefully the 1 dollar fix helps with that.

Some of you may have noticed that the car would smoke if i left it in first gear and lifted off the throttle. my assumption is bad valve seals however the leakdown test came back as a healthy engine. :/ if i keep the james bond smoke screen feature can i subtract some time from my runs :D

put in about 25 hours this weekend. Did not finish. Exhaust is all welded up besides the muffler. think i need to add a few more clamps and put the body work back on. May call the dyno and tell them to push me back a weekend.

Sunday afternoon i went to turn it over and check for leaks and flush some coolant and oil through it. turned the engine over and had 10 psi of oil pressure. figured the lines were just big and it takes a while. started it up and maybe got to about 25. started to think i have a bad bottom end, swapped out the 20w-50 for some 5w-30. Except this time 0 psi. Decided to try and prime the engine manually and again 0 psi. At this time im starting to think its the gauge as i can see oil moving to the gauge line and feel the drill load up when the pressure builds. Check to see if the gauge is leaking and there is a kink in the line. thats a much easier fix then anything else. repaired the kink and have 38psi on start up. good enough for 5w-30.

Besides the long days and weld burnt arms it wasnt a bad weekend.
