Tango Electric Commtuer Car

Post by BugBomb »

This is a pretty neat idea. Super-narrow, low-COG, all-electric, 2-seater, with sportscar performance. Too bad the only model available is $106K. Looks like they have plans to offer cheaper ones in the future, given enough interest.

Imagine auto-xing one. Slaloms would be nothing.

Yikes that thing is narrow! Tandem seating like in the new Caparo T1 is cool but I'd be worried about this car's crashworthiness. I guess if it's strictly used for auto-x it'd be okay. Despite the tall SUV looks I bet this thing has a reasonably low center of gravity given the weight of the batteries and electric motors. However, the very narrow width does cause some concerns about vehicle stability and rollover.

Everyone driving those would solve a LOT of traffic problems. Then again, so would everyone on motorcycles.

You could buy some JDM, Titanium safety wheels to mount on the sides for autoX events.

They have some pictures of the rollcage in their brochure. That thing has one, tough skeleton.

I'm in love with this car. Except for the 3000lb curb weight.
