Briatore steps down from Renault F1

Looks like Piquet's claims were valid. One of my favorite misusers of the english language is now gone from Renault.

Yeah, been following this close along with my boss(he knows a lot of the teams: http://namethatdriver.com/ ). Don't think he had a lot of choice. Pat Symonds also left as well. It's too bad however needed.

Next week is the hearing I believe. This looks to get very bad for Renault. With this latest happening, I'm beginning to wonder what kind of case they have left now.hepcatz wrote:Yeah, been following this close along with my boss(he knows a lot of the teams: http://namethatdriver.com/ ). The word is in and Renault is out. 2011, Renault will be banned from F1.

Ok, so I was off based on my prediction at SP. I am glad they took a slightly firmer approach.

Re: Briatore steps down from Renault F1
I dont know if any monetary penalties have/will be handed down yet. Renault, though, has offered to pay for all the court costs surrounding the case.
Renault has claimed ignorance regarding the happenings. They say that it was completely concocted by Briatore and Symonds and that nobody (including Alonso) knew about it or attributed to the strategy.

That may be true. However either way the big fish will always seperate themselves from the little fish to create a buffer zone for them and a fall guy for everyone else.

Re: Briatore steps down from Renault F1
The funny thing out of all this is that Nelson Piquet Jr wants to come back to F1 ( http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2009/09/21/n ... f1-return/ ). I dont know what type of chances he thinks he has left after; A) sucking massively and, B) after getting fired for "A", tattling like a girl and breaking the code of silence that should have been held regardless. So, is anyone in the market for a driver the blows and cant keep his mouth shut? I think not... We'll, maybe USF1 as they still dont have drivers lined up...

Re: Briatore steps down from Renault F1
I was mistaken about Renaults punishment. Here is a better clarification from the WMSC:
The WMSC has decided to suspend Renault F1’s disqualification until the end of the 2011 season. The World Motor Sport Council will only activate this disqualification if Renault F1 is found guilty of a comparable breach during that time.

Update Re: Briatore steps down from Renault F1
TGI overturns the FIA ban on Renault's Briatore & Symonds and orders FIA to pay damages to both!

Re: Update Re: Briatore steps down from Renault F1
Excellent. The first part of my plan worked like a charm. Now they need to start phase 2, which includes deleting the results of that first Singapore race, which will give Massa the title for that year =Phepcatz wrote:TGI overturns the FIA ban on Renault's Briatore & Symonds and orders FIA to pay damages to both!

Re: Briatore steps down from Renault F1
Ha Ha, nice try. I was surprised. not that it happened, I knew it wouldn't last. I guessed it wouldn't happen until 2011 when the suspended sentence kicked in. however I figured it would be FIA that blinked first and caved in like wussies. Nobody is going to be dumb enough to pick them two back up for several years, except for USF1. They can be door to door toaster distributors.

Re: Briatore steps down from Renault F1
I didnt think the FIA would buckle first, but I wouldn't be so sure if Todt didn't have a hand in helping this along. Todt and Briatore are old money in terms of F1. Before Todt had the dream-team in Ferrari, Briatore had it at Benneton. Briatore knows every skeleton that could be hiding in Todt's closet because Rory Bryne and Ross Brawn worked for him first, and with Flavio's back against the wall, he is very capable of smearing our new head of FIA and ruining the sport of F1 further.hepcatz wrote:Ha Ha, nice try.
