Last RallyCross of the season

Post by eage8 »

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that November 14th is the last rallycross of the year. If you have wanted to make it out to one now's your chance. It looks like a decent amount of people are signed up so we should be running the big course (2 minute runs).

It looks like Fred Kelley, Brian Karwan, AJ, and my brother are all going to be there. Fred, Brian, and AJ are all running a stock 91 civic, so if you ever wanted to beat them, now's your chance ;)

I guess so!! I've driven a FWD car for a total of 2 minutes in my life! We do have a pretty good POS though. I'll do my best. I'm flying back from the rally in Spain that ended yesterday and will do my best.

I'd like to try rally out, but I don't have a platform for it......maybe someday.

Just registered, can't wait! Don't under estimate the power of a little fwd car on snow tires. The neon did great, took out plenty of subies with it, but it did have a little more power to it than the civic..

I don't doubt that it's fast, there is a guy with a CRX Si in stock class that comes sometimes that's surprisingly fast. I'll be interested to see how my brother does against you guys :) (EK hatch w/ snows)

what kind of snows are you guys going to be running? it's a good thing we're probably going to be on the big course... 4 drivers on snows on the barn course and the tires wouldn't be very happy...

I'd rallycross it :)

Brian got a set of General Alimax Arctic tires. I'm interested to see how they compare to the Firestone Winterforce tires I had on the neon. I just hope for our sake, and even moreso Brians, that they hold up to the abuse of 4 drivers lol. That's like atleast 24runs? haha. not only the tire but the car itself too... Lol

That's what the STi guys use (they come in their size) and they seem to do fine. with half the hp they'll probably be fine :P . I have winterforces on the impreza and they've lasted all season :) . They're starting to get a bit chewed up though... hopefully they still do ok in the snow this winter haha.

AJ, ixnay the alktnay. Their has been a lot of activity in the rally X shop this week. The car will not be abused by 4 drivers, actually just one. The other three of us will be driving.

I pulled the dipstick today...it looked like it had a little black jelly bean stuck on the tip.

I don't think magic speed beans are legal in stock class...

I've seen AJ drive. He has magic beans in his veins. Fred also has legumes in his blood...or someplace.

If they grow naturally, then they must be legal!

I had a blast at the event! A huge thanks to Brian for letting us beat on the car! I'm pretty sure everyone out there had a great time. I think Fred maybe had the least fun since there was no mud or age PAX lol. It was a great experience and I think Andy is hooked, Brian seems to be happy with it even with the abuse and minimal damage done to his car lol. Don't know if Fred's quite as interested as we are? Either way, it was a great experience. I did a quite estimate on how much time the car was out being bounced around and pummeled with rocks and got around 65mins of hella fun seat time! It's quite impressive that that car, in it's current condition, held up to all of that.

Anyways here are some pics and video
