Re: rear sway
I will sell you my flying miata rear sway bar for $75.
If you remember the first autox from this year, it gave me loads of over-steer! What front bar are you running to need this big of a rear bar?

Re: rear sway
Using the RB hollow bar for the nb on it's softest setting. We were pushing badly at winchester a couple of weeks ago. I'm thinking that with a stiffer rear bar we could eliminate some understeer and if it causes oversteer the front bar could go to a stiffer setting. On the other hand the entire problem could just be me.

Re: rear sway
Well, this one has 3 settings available on it.
I will bring it to the next event if you are still interested.
BTW, what are your spring rate and alignment settings? I can go over what has worked in the past for me with you...
My current setup is as follows...
-----------------------
Front
12" hub to fender height
650lb/in
1" solid front bar on it's stiffest setting
camber: -2* (maxed out)
Toe : 0
Caster: 4.5*
_________________________
Rear
12.5" hub to fender height
350lb/in
stock sport 12mm swaybar
camber: -2*
Toe: 0
_______________________
Handling notes:
With NT-01 tires i trend to having oversteer with ~~30 psi cold on all 4 tires
Dropping the Front tires to 30 psi hot and rear to ~~27 or 28psi hot gives me a car that i feel is neutral. I have plenty of grip when initiating turn in and can even trail brake a bit to cause the back end to swing out slightly, and i don't have to worry about the rear end being loose when i am getting on the gas from mid corner to exit.
That being said, there are still changes that i would like to try with the car to set it up a little better:
I have been wanting to try a larger front bar
i want to switch to shorter shock bodies to have more travel at a lower ride height. This is in an attempt to get more front camber.
Hopefully with those changes, i might be able to get a more neutral balance and more even tire wear from being able to keep more equal tire pressures.
Sorry for the novel...

Re: rear sway
Well . . .that was some good betime reading Jared.
Would you mind if we do a test drive with the rear sway? Shouldn't take very long to install. Perhaps we can do our first runs without and then install it for the 2nd set of runs. If we like, we keep. If we don't like, you uninstall.

Re: rear sway
sure, you are welcome to try it.
you might want to make sure you are able to get the old one off first. Go over the mounting bolts and end-links with lube. take the nuts off and put anti-seize compound on them.
Nothing worse than breaking these when you have 20 min till your next heat... Then you definitely will have loads of understeer

Re: rear sway
Jared,
Sorry it took me so long to post this but here I finally go.
FRONT
RB hollow sway for NB with RB front brace
500lb springs
-2.4 deg camber
1/8" toe out
REAR
OEM sway
350lb springs
-2.8 camber
zero toe
Dont know the ride height---just whatever it took for Ed York to achieve the camber(but very low)
We've been keeping the tires @ 28lb front and rear but that is subject to change with the new R1R's coming.
If I've missed something just let me know and I'll dash off another speedy reply probably before Christmas.
