2010 Awards Lunch
2010 Awards Lunch
We will have an informal 2010 Awards Lunch on Saturday February 19th at Buffalo Wild Wings in Rockville, MD.
Time: 1 pm
Location:
Buffalo Wild Wings Phone:
33-C Maryland Avenue
Rockville, MD 20850-0315
301-251-9393
Below are the Award Winners:
2010 Small Bore Championship
1st Place Frank T Dam, FTD 5/8/10
2nd Place Mike Gol
3rd Place Dan Kraus
4th Place Curtis Huf
2010 index Championship
1st Place Don Fit
2nd Place Fred Kel, FTD 7/10/10, 7/31/10, 8/28/10, 9/11/10, 10/9/10
3rd Place Ryan Pal
4th Place Wade Cha, FTD 4/3/10, 7/3/10, 7/17/10, 8/7/10, 11/20/10
FTDs
Gary Hug FTD 8/21/10
Brain Kar FTD 9/25/10
New CDC Organizers
Larry Casey
Denise Howell
Along with passing out the 2010 awards, we will also open the floor for suggestions for the 2011 indexes (different values, different indexes, etc).
I know that several people have suggested adding a tire index to the small bore class. After looking at past results, I can see how incorporating the tire index can make the Small Bore Series more competative to those that run street tires.
We have most of the 2011 dates but have issues with two dates. Once these dates are confirmed, we will post the entire schedule on the web.

I may show up to push street tire index in small bore. Watch out Valeri.
Re: 2010 Awards Lunch
In case I can't make it,I too am in favor of a tire index in smallbore. and while I'm at it reduce the hit for the big hp guys, it doesn't help on the small lots. That's Larry and Wade BTW.

The first rule of Small Bore is that you don't mention tire indexes on the forum.mla163 wrote:I may show up to push street tire index in small bore. Watch out Valeri.

Re: 2010 Awards Lunch
I won't be able to make it this Saturday, but I would like to propose having a street tire index in the small bore class. Weight and power are pretty much equal across the board for the limits imposed on the class. Tires obviously make a huge difference. 1.035 might be a bit generous here, I'd like to open this up to discussion at the lunch and or on the board.
I *do* have a dog in the fight. I'll be running my STR-prepped miata next year. It qualifies for small bore, but runs on street tires. I'd prefer to not have to pony up for R-comps to compete. The way the class is presently set up, you can't win without buying R-comps. If we have a tire modifier for standard classing, it makes sense to have it for small bore.
I'd also like to throw out a few more ideas for discussion:
BIG bore class:
-essentially to cater to Cobras, Noble(s), Vette's, etc.
-4.0L+ or 3.0L+ forced injection(more or less)
-xxxx lbs (I don't know min weights, but a 1200lb, 500hp car might not be the target demographic)
-R-comps (500hp on street tires is not a great idea)
Hot Hatch class:
-NA engines
-3 door or 5 door
-to cater to civics, scions, fits, minis etc
-tire modifier
-exclude EG civic si to avoid frustration
- I haven't really thought this out, just thought it would be interesting

Had fun, nice seeing everyone there. Franklin let me touch his watch. I took a couple pics & put them on my FB page. Tomorrow is a special miata winery tour with folks from Miata.net!
