WTB: OBDII VTEC Distributor
I'm looking for an OBDII VTEC distributor for my 3rd generation Integra (B18C). I think I have an intermittently bad sensor. Drivability is decreasing, but it isn't causing enough trouble to throw codes yet. I'd also be willing to borrow one for a couple weeks to see if replacing mine will even fix the problem.

I can fix your existing one. I became an expert at integra distributors when I had mine.

Are the sensors in the distributor body serviceable? Honda doesn't sell the parts individually.

You can get aftermarket replacements. I dont think you can get the actual sensors, but the coil and ignitor are replaceable and most likely the problem.

I think the one in the CRX is the sensors... it's fine up until like 3500 then it breaks up.konkilr wrote:You can get aftermarket replacements. I dont think you can get the actual sensors, but the coil and ignitor are replaceable and most likely the problem.

Re: WTB: OBDII VTEC Distributor
The coil went dead last year and was replaced with an OE part. I am guessing that the ICM or sensors are bad as well or the replacement coil is faulty. With another set of working parts I should be able to diagnose the cause of the problem.konkilr wrote:You can get aftermarket replacements. Make sure the spade terminals are tight, I mean really tight! If they are even slightly loose the car will hicup and the tach needle may fluctuate.

Re: WTB: OBDII VTEC Distributor
Denise's CRX isn't a slight hiccup sort of problem, it's a "it hits spark cut at 3500" sort of problemkonkilr wrote:Make sure the spade terminals are tight, I mean really tight! If they are even slightly loose the car will hicup and the tach needle may fluctuate.

I went to the junkyard to try to get another distributor... and there wasn't one honda with a distributor in the entire yard... so I think this might be a pretty common problem

Re: WTB: OBDII VTEC Distributor
Took 30 minutes to replace the whole thing yesterday. Car seems to be running well. Once I got the old one inside where it was warm I took it apart. I suspect that you are right, some of the spade connectors appear loose. When it warms back up, I'll fix the old one and put it back on. If the problem stays away I'll unload one of them.konkilr wrote:Make sure the spade terminals are tight, I mean really tight!
