High Performance Driver Education (HPDE) Driving School Information

Thank you for your interest in the Spring 2008 HPDE Driving School at Summit Point Motorsports Park Shenandoah Circuit brought to you by the Capital Driving Club (CDC) and N.E.R.D. Racing!

Where does this event take place?

Summit Point Motorsports Park is located in Summit Point, WV just 1.5 hours from Washington, DC. This event will take place on the Shenandoah Circuit at Summit Point. For directions using Google Maps, click here.

How do I register for this event?

The event is almost full and we have closed the online reservation system. If you mail your registration form and payment now you may be added to the wait list as we are very near capacity and we cannot guarantee acceptance.

However, we still have a few open slots for advanced, "solo-certified" drivers in Group 3. If you would like to register for Group 3, please send an e-mail to peter.g@capitaldrivingclub.com to request pre-approval. Include your driving experience (number of events, which clubs, which tracks). If you are pre-approved for Group 3 you will be instructed to complete the registration process as explained in Steps 2 - 8 below.

Step 1: Submit online reservation via CDC website (just like you do for autocross event)
Step 1: E-mail peter.g@capitaldrivingclub.com to request pre-approval
Step 2: Download and read the HPDE Information Packet
Step 3: Complete HPDE Registration Form and mail it with your payment to Ed Chan
Step 4: Have pre-event safety inspection performed by trusted mechanic
Step 5: Make sure your mechanic signs the Technical Inspection Form
Step 6: Complete the Helmet Acknowledgment and Release Form
Step 7: Complete the (optional) Medical Information Form
Step 8: Bring Tech Inspection, Helmet Release, and Medical forms with you to the track

To register for this event, first click the Schedule link on the CDC website to sign up using our event reservation system just as you would for a regular CDC autocross. The event reservation system allows event organizers to effectively manage the event roster and notify you via e-mail once your registration has been approved.

Note: your registration status is pending until we receive your completed HPDE Registration Form and payment.

Once you RSVP via the CDC website, please download the HPDE Registration Form and follow the printed instructions. Be sure to mail a hard copy of your completed HPDE Registration Form to Ed Chan along with your payment (made out to "Capital Driving Club") no later than April 14, 2008 to the address listed on the form. Registrations will be processed in the order payment is received. We will notify you via e-mail once your registration has been approved.

Please complete the pre-event Technical inspection Form, Helmet Acknowledgment and Release Form, and optional Medical Information Form and bring these with you to the event. There will be no extra copies available at the HPDE event. These forms must be filled out prior to the event.

When is registration?

Please send your payment no later than April 14, 2008. A $25 late fee will be imposed for all registrations after this date. This event is likely to fill up fast so please send your HPDE Registration Form and payment early to guarantee a spot.

Is there anything else I need to do?

Before you arrive at the event, you must read and fully understand all of the information contained within the HPDE Information Packet and complete the additional forms contained therein. Don't forget to have a trusted mechanic perform a pre-event safety inspection of your vehicle!
